Relief Worker

We are looking for qualified individuals to work on our relief list. The relief list is a list of individuals who are available on an on-call basis to fill shifts when necessary.

The shifts available start at 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm, then a sleepover begins. Staff are required to be available to be able to stay for sleepover shifts. The sleepover is from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am at which time staff awakens and the morning shifts go from 6:00 am – 9:00 am. Staff are paid their wages for awake hours and then paid a flat rate for the sleepover portion. During the sleepover portion the staff goes to bed. If for some reason the staff are awakened due to a client issue or concern their hourly wage would kick in for that period of time.

The Community Homes are closed for the most part from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Occasionally we have shifts during this time if a client is home sick etc. On the weekends the shifts differ slightly as the Community Homes are then open around the clock.

Staffs are expected to support individuals to reach their life goals and to provide support to them in all activities of daily living. This ranges from personal care to personal shopping, getting groceries, household management, documentation, medication administration and various other responsibilities.

To be considered for these positions you must be available for evenings and sleepovers. The position would be working in our Community Homes which are group home like settings. There are three or four individuals living in each location. Part Time and Full Time positions open up on a regular basis and preference is given to those individuals who are on the relief list for any of these positions. We are looking for individuals who have work experience in the field, and/or educational background. We really value our employees and offer a number of little perks to ensure that they are aware of this. Only apply if you are interested in a job where you can really make a difference.
